All Warranties are made through distribution only. We do not process any warranty claims to the general public. If you have a product you believe to be under warranty and is defective you will need to contact the distributor that it was purchased through to process your warranty claim.
Fixtures
All Aluminum and Composite fixtures are warranted to be free from defects in workmanship and materials, as manufactured for a period of five (5) years. Aluminum products are not meant for use in caustic environments (Coastal or Inter-Coastal). Installation or use of aluminum products in caustic environments will void the warranty.
All Brass fixtures have a limited lifetime warranty. Brass products are designed to age and tarnish over time. Changes in the brass finish are natural and occur at varying rates depending on the climate, environment and the natural elements. UNVLS does not warrant that the product will not change in finish, and we cannot warrant that all the product will tarnish, patina, or age evenly or in the same manner as other products of the same material – we simply do not have any control over mother nature and the elements.
LED’s
LED Lamps carry various warranties. Each category of lamps has the warranty period listed on the specification sheet in number of years. Rated hours are provided as a guide and not as an offer of warranty. Fluctuation in the electrical grid, Miss-use or acts of God such as lightning strikes are not covered by our warranty.
LED Lamp warranty overview (subject to change):
- Lamps whose part number begins with “LVS” have a 2 year warranty.
- Lamps whose part number begins with “LXC” have a 7 year warranty.
- Integrated LED fixtures have a 10 year warranty.
Transformers
MTM, MTT, MTP, UTR – Life Time Warranty
Transformer components for our MTM, MTT, MTP and UTR Series transformers such as Circuit breakers, photocell plugs, timer receptacles, relay switches, thermal resistors, or terminal blocks that fail under normal operating conditions can be field replaced. Components are available and encouraged as a form of repair.
ECO – Two year limited warranty.
ECO series have a field replaceable Timer Module (ECO-TM) that is covered under a TWO (2) year warranty.
STL – Five year limited warranty.
STL series have a field replaceable Timer Module (STL-TM) that is covered under a ONE (1) year warranty. The low voltage photocell is covered under the same One (1) year warranty and is also field replaceable.
ZCT – Five year warranty.
The ZCT Zone Control Transformers have a Five year warranty.
All transformer accessories including but not limited to mechanical timers, digital timers, astronomical timers, and photo cells are limited to a 90 day warranty from date of installation.
Universal Lighting Systems (UNVLS) hereby disclaims all implied warranties and conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement. In no event shall UNVLS and/or its respective suppliers be liable for any special, indirect or consequential damages or any damages whatsoever resulting from loss of use, profits, whether in an action of contract, negligence or other tortuous action, arising out of or in connection with the use or performance of UNVLS products. Installation labor to repair or replace defective products is explicitly excluded from the UNVLS product warranty. Our warranty covers ONLY REPLACEMENT OR REPAIR, and excludes any freight expenses incurred by the purchaser or others for servicing any such claim during the warranty period. The warranties are limited to the original owner and are not transferable. UNVLS reserves the right to issue credit, repair or replace defective products at our option, upon receipt of written notification by the purchasing distributor of the alleged defect within the warranty period. UNVLS further reserves the right to examine the alleged defective product, or other proof satisfactory to UNVLS of the defect. UNVLS further reserves the right to refuse to honor the warranty for any product(s) altered, improperly installed, misuse, abused, or installed in applications for which they are not intended.
